Our running group takes to the streets in the evenings, our turbo classes provide specific cycling coaching and training, and our various swim classes work on swimming skills and endurance. Hypoxic (Altitude) Chamber Our famous hypoxic (altitude training) chamber is for those really wanting to take their training and results to the next level. The oxygen content within the chamber is reduced to approximately 15% (compared to 21% at sea level), which is equivalent to 2,500m (8,500 feet). Our chamber contains treadmills, bikes, a x-trainer, and a rower – meaning there is no limit to the type of altitude training you can do. It is the next best thing to living on the mountain!
Climbing Wall For a healthy mix of strength, endurance, agility (and for some people, fear!) our three storey climbing wall is what you’re looking for. The 75sq metre white knuckle wall is designed for both novice and intermediate climbers, with two self belays for the times you are climbing alone, and several top rope and lead climbs. The wall includes an overhang, an abseil ledge, and many routes of varying difficulties which are changed regularly.
Climbing by nature is extremely physically demanding – there’s no escaping gravity! Climbing demands a level of strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and skill, therefore by integrating regular climbing into your workout schedule, you can expect fast improvement in all these areas. As your own body weight is the resistance, you can also expect a healthy increase in your strength-to-weight ratio, making climbing an excellent (and fun!) cross-training addition to any fitness plan.

Yoga Our yoga classes all run on the central theme that a state of harmony exists when the requirements of the body, mind, and spirit are met. We have a large timetable of yoga, held in both the studio and the dojo. Our classes promote a state of relaxation and therefore aim to allay anxiety and remove stress. The more active yoga classes bring physical benefits such as improved posture, flexibility, range of motion and co-ordination.
Qi-Gong Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese movement and mediation technique designed to enhance health and longevity. By focusing on the three aspects of human life (the body, the mind, and the spirit), this practice rejuvenates the body at the cellular level, clears the mind of the unnecessary rubble and lifts the spirit to its full potential. Based on the principles of Yin and Yang, Qi Gong promotes well-being, energises the body and focuses the mind. It is a brilliant introduction for both meditation and martial arts.

Our GP can assess you, or our musculoskeletal team can diagnose and treat an injury and provide a rehabilitation package in conjunction with the fitness team, even if you are not a member of The Third Space. Acupuncture can help with various injuries, and massage may be beneficial in addition to other therapies. In addition, pilates and Gyrotonic are recommended by health care professionals as an ideal form of rehabilitation exercise following injury.
Our hypoxic chamber enables a member to protect an injury by exercising at a reduced intensity, yet still gain a high level of fitness conditioning. In addition, our arm rotor on the cardio floor is specifically for those with leg injuries, to ensure some aerobic fitness work can still take place.
The Fitness team can work with the wide range of practitioners from The Third Space Medicine to develop a specific exercise program with either a rehab focus (to improve an injury), or a prehab focus (to stop the injury from happening). The combination of our fitness and medical teams gives you the best possible chance to return to and stay at full fitness!
